Troy School 2 Mural

In June 2022 we received a grant from the Arts Center of the Capital Region to collaborate with the community of School 2 in Troy and paint a mural together. We held a full day of workshops with the students in order to get their ideas for the mural, which contains individual drawings by students. We also held 2 listening sessions with community members who guided the concept, which is based on Maya Angelou's poem "Still I Rise." The school held a block party and over 100 kids came to paint, helping create this massive mural!
