Super-Stories 2022 Recap

 

Super-Stories was launched in January 2022 by artists Grace Lang and Ramiro Davaro-Comas. The program produced 20 different projects that immediately served approximately 700 participants. The public art projects will be enjoyed by approximately 5000 community members in Troy NY, Homer City PA and Scotia NY. Super-Stories partnered with 26 different organizations.

Project Breakdown and Impact

​

6 large scale mural productions, 3 of them with schools, and 3 of them with community partnerships.

A total of 16 murals painted by 7 different artists.14 arts based educational workshops. 1 free community skatepark.

 

  • Workshop - Quarter Pipe and Ramp Building in partnership with Basilica Hudson and the Eco-Tool Shed. Hudson, NY. Approximately 40 participants.

 

  • Workshop - Spray Paint Class in partnership with Basilica Hudson and the Eco-Tool Shed. Hudson, NY. Approximately 40 participants.

 

  • Skatepark - A free community skatepark that was open Thursday and Saturdays from 4-7pm for February and March of 2022. Approximately 100 participants. Hudson, NY.

 

  • Workshop - Spray paint Class in partnership with Art Omi. Approximately 20 participants. Ghent, NY.

 

  • Workshop - Spray Paint class in partnership with Northampton Public Schools. Northampton, MA. Approximately 40 participants.

 

  • Workshop - Sign Making in partnership with the Basilica Hudson and Eco-Tool Shed. Hudson, NY. Approximately 30 participants.

 

  • Workshop - Spray Paint Class in partnership with the Northampton Arts Council and the Northampton Public Arts Fest. Northampton, MA. Approximately 20 participants.

 

  • Workshop - Spray Paint class and “Before I Die” Wall in partnership with the Greater Hudson Promise Neighborhood. Hudson, NY. Approximately 20 participants.

 

  • Workshop - Mural Painting Class in partnership with the Boston Architectural College. Boston, MA. Approximately 15 participants.

 

  • Workshop - Painting Wooden Bird Cutouts in partnership with Art on the Rail Trail. Voorheesville, NY. Approximately 20 participants.

 

  • Workshop - Gio’s Ollie Sessions skateboard painting in partnership with Fresh Paint Springfield and Theory Skateshop. Springfield, MA. Approximately 120 participants.

 

  • Mural - Mural Project in partnership with Troy School 2 and the Arts Center for the Capital Region. Troy, NY. Approximately 100 participants. 1 mural painted - 10x190 feet.

 

  • Mural - Mural project in partnership with the City of Thornton. Thornton, CO. Approximately 50 participants. 1 mural painted - 5 x 32 feet.

 

  • Workshop - Spray paint class and skateboard class in partnership with the town of Kinderhook. Kinderhook, NY. Approximately 30 participants.

 

  • Workshop - Ramp Building and skateboard class in partnership with Rivers of Steel. Pittsburgh, PA. Approximately 20 participants.

 

  • Mural - Mural Project in partnership with Town and Country Skateshop. Scotia, NY. Approximately 5 participants. 4 Murals pained - 10x8 feet each.

 

  • Workshop - Spray Paint class in partnership with the O+positive festival and the YMCA of Kingston. Kingston, NY. Approximately 20 participants.

 

  • Mural - Mural Project in partnership with the Community Music School of Springfield and the Prelude Preschool. Springfield, MA. Approximately 20 participants.

 

  • Mural - Mural project in partnership with the Indiana Arts Council, The creative Space’s Collective, Thirfty Threads and Disobedient Spirits. 5 murals painted, different sizes for each.

 

  • Mural - Mural project in partnership with he Rutland Middle School. Rutland, VT. Approximately 200 participants. 3 murals painted.
