Come get creative at our Super-Stories children’s Makers Space in downtown Kinderhook, NY, located in the old Rock Shop at 2 Chatham Street. This space is dedicated to a combination of free and paid programming for artists of all ages, including after-school, evening, and weekend workshops. The space is also available for private art-making parties, as well as other one-day events hosted by local creatives. We will continue to host projects off-site, collaborating with public schools and other non-profits too!

Print Night!

Many people have requested more art-making workshops for adults, so we are thrilled to announce Print Night! We will be sure to do a similar event for all ages soon, but this workshop is meant for creative adults to hang and make some art. No printmaking experience necessary!

5:00 - 7:00 PM
$10 suggested donation | 18+

T-Shirt Reclamation with JRAT Zero waste

Bring a t-shirt that you no longer wear (or never wore because it was an unwarranted gift or a "prize" at the finish line of a 5K) and turn it into art! Join Super-Stories and visiting zero waste artist Janelle Abbott for this playful workshop focused on the transformative power of clothing. We will be using textile scraps, junk drawer items, and a whole bucket of embellishments to turn these sad, sorry t-shirts into fun, imaginative works of art that are fit to be worn on the body or on the wall! No sewing experience needed. The workshop will include brief tutorials on hand sewing, one at 10:15 and another at 11:45. Please bring one or more t-shirts with you and any kind of listless material from around your house to use as appliques on your tee: gloves and socks with no mates, broken jewelry, keys to nowhere, plastic cutlery, fruit mesh, etc. Anything goes!

Saturday, February 24th
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Hand Sewing Demos at 10:15 and 11:45

Adult Drawing Club!
First Thursday of each month!
6:00 - 8:00 pm
Suggested Donation $10

This is a very open, relaxed space for adult artists to get together and doodle. Some months we will draw from a model or from a weird collaborative still-life. Other months we will do silly drawing games. We are VERY open to suggestions for prompts and themes! Artists are encouraged to bring sketchbooks, but we will also have all kinds of drawing materials available. Light refreshments too! No need to register.
